Place 6

It had been months since an unfortunate circumstance had taken place within England, far away from this place. After somehow being transported by humans with strange, dizzying means... here she was now. After she got away, she didn't find much it seemed. She was tired and on edge, but her expression gave nothing away, her large ears were perked and she was highly alert.

'Why am I here?' she would think to herself, walking through the snow and watching all around. It seemed deserted, she didn't know what to do, but just carry on. She missed her mother, they had always been together until now. But she tried not to think about it, her mother was a dog, safe at home with their old humans. Her father was a wolf, him and her mother were in love for awhile but... he changed, he became an asshole, and now he was out of their lives. She was fine now.

But even though mother was fine, the young female would never forget what her father did. Not that it mattered anymore, she needed to keep moving on and find someplace for herself, now that there was no way for her to find home. Fuck it, she could make a new one.. right? she just needed to find somewhere safe and secluded. Currently she was out in the open, surrounded by snow, trees, a cold lake, and some mountains in the distance. Delightful. It was beautiful but...What if there were others living in a place like this... how do they survive, and could she maybe find them? She held on to some sort of hope as she walked.

Area 6

At a steady phase the wolf's strong legs burrowed through the snow as he made his way forward. How long had it been since he last slept now? The bags under Tait's eyes were dark and heavy. Letting out a long yawn his movements came to a halt.
Cutting his slumbering yawning short, his nostrills moved around in the wind. "Hmm." The male hummed. 'Another wolf. Maybe I have some luck after all.'Licking his maw, the wolf picked up his speed, his legs cutting through the snow with little effort. Time to see if this stranger has something to eat.

It didn't take too long for Tait to spot the stranger wolf in the distance out by a lake. He stared at them for a few minutes,
checking their behaviour. Seemed simple enough. "Well that's quite a cold stare you got there, lovely!" He spoke loud enough so the stranger would hear him whilst he made his way towards them. 'Hmm, a female as well.' He put a charming grin onto his face, showing no fear nor aggression. Now how would she react to his approach?

Area 6

A raven wolf slowly approaches a large forest area with a long narrow lake. His one only good eye searches for nearby prey that he could easily kill to satisfy his hunger. Instead, he finds a male wolf with a tan fur coat. He grins to himself at the thought of interacting with a wolf, he hasn't seen any of his kind since they had all died in front of his eyes. Shadow panicked when he noticed that a another wolf had already caught the tan's wolf interest. He realized that it was a female wolf that the male wanted to interact with, not him. He grew rather nervous thinking of females. He didn't like girls at all. He liked boys better.

Area 5

Shadow left the lake and went deeper in the forest, he was really hungry for meat. As soon as he used his stiffer to pin point the location of a nearby rabbit, he rushed forward to find that soon to be dead dinner. The rabbit heard his paws stomping on the snow and took off, but the rabbit wasn't paying attention to his surrounds and slammed against a tree. The rabbit had been knocked down and can't get up. It had forgotten its life alert. Shadow snatched that rabbit up and snap its neck after apologizing for not giving the rabbit a fair fight. Shadow bit into the furry creature's head then went on his merry way while thinking of how good this rabbit is going to be. Once he found a good place to settle for the day, he dropped the rabbit and begin to feast.

Area 5

Cedar had been wandering the woods for the past few days, alone for the most part save for a few spare encounters with her fellow wolf. Often, these encounters ended violently, and if Cedar were not so cunning, she may not be standing here today. Surviving alone was difficult, and if any wolf wanted to make it, they had to be clever, especially if they weren't blessed with great strength and speed. Cedar was agile, but she didn't have the strength to catch a deer, and even if she did, such large prey was a dangerous risk to take for any lone wolf. So she made her living off rats and the occasional rabbit. Sometimes, she survived through less honest means.

It seemed that this would be one of those times. She could see the dark figure of a wolf in the distance, under the shade of a tree, the smell of fresh blood emanating from his direction.  A smirk crawled upon her features, her eyes narrowed with delight. She crept closer, keeping downwind of the other wolf so that he was less likely to sense her approach, then she lay in wait among some bushes. She had to move soon, before the wolf gluttonously devoured it all, leaving not even a scrap.

She crouched, ready to pounce. With a small wiggle of her rump, she leapt forward. Quickly, she rushed for the dead rabbit, and snatched it right up, then she ran off into the forest.

Area 5

Cedar ran and ran, bolting across the snow, rabbit hanging in her jaws. Still holding the rabbit, she grinned widely. Yes! A smashing success! That dumb brute never knew what hit him! Then something slammed into her, tackling her to the ground, kicking up snow all around them. When she was pinned to the ground, she realized she didn't have the rabbit anymore. She could faintly see it just a few feet away from her, but there was no way she could get it now, not with this douchebag on top of her.

She snapped for his ankle, hoping to create an opening so she could roll out from under him and get the hell out of there.

Shadow felt a sharp pain from his ankle and let out a sharp howl of agony. He felt like that poor rabbit that didn't know what was coming to him or her. He put his guard up once more when the female wolf had escaped from his reach. He charged forward again with the intention to harm her.

She'd gotten a quick taste of metallic blood and released her grip, having bitten just enough for the male to pull his paw away. Cedar rolled out from underneath him, getting back onto her paws and running for the rabbit again, but before she could reach it, he shoved her in the side, knocking her back to the ground. She scrambled back to her paws, breathing heavily. Her gaze went back and forth between the male and the rabbit. With his large size and strong figure, there was no way Cedar could take him in a one-on-one fight like this, and there was nothing around she could use to her advantage... she decided to play diplomat this time. If he could not be appeased, she could always run.

She stood up, shook off some of the snow that got all over her fur, and took a few steps closer, her posture low, tail tucked, and gazing up at the male. "I'm sorry about that, sir. I didn't want to fight, especially not with a strong, handsome wolf such as yourself. You see... I haven't eaten these past few days... you're a rogue, just as I am, correct? I'm sure you understand what it's like to be hungry..." She stopped with a good few feet between them, enough distance just in case he attacked.

He eyed her state of health. It seemed she hasn't eaten in days. Even though he hated females with a passion, he wasn't willing to kill a weak girl wolf for just a small piece of meat. Shadow finally spoke in a very deep voice after a long period of silence. "I don't mind sharing this petite meal with you as long as you know that if you make a violent move towards me again, I will react violently." He grabbed the bloody fleshy rabbit up by his sharp teeth and dropped it in front of the smaller wolf. Shadow was willing to give the rest of his meal to her.

He then walked away to search for bigger prey to have more to eat. The rabbit wasn't even worth all the drama it caused, but at least he saw a another wolf. Even though it was a female. He longed for a companion he could call friend or mate. He hasn't had a mate since his last love died from cancer. Anyways he searched hard in the woods for a good meal, but it was getting dark in the forest so he needed to find a place where he could sleep for the night.

There was a long silence and it was beginning to drive Cedar mad with anxiety over his response. The stranger's expression was cold and analytical, as if he examined every last detail before coming to any sort of conclusion. It was so annoying, so nerve-wracking. Finally, the male said something.

"I don't mind sharing this petite meal with you as long as you know that if you make a violent move towards me again, I will react violently," he said, then he grabbed the half-eaten rabbit and dropped it at her paws. It wasn't a whole lot at this point, after all this little tussle they had, the rabbit was twisted up and its insides were full of snow.  Most of the best parts were already eaten, but Cedar quickly ate what she could, leaving nothing but bones and the intestines, which disgust her. She could see the other wolf walking off. Cedar stayed back for a moment.

Maybe she could use having a wolf like him around, at least for now. He was strong, and if they worked together, they could catch far more and far better prey than they could on their own... She licked the blood off her lips and trotted after him, catching up by his side.

"You're leaving already?" Cedar said with a slight pout. She wasn't seriously disappointed, but it'd be such a shame to let him go, just like that. "I was hoping we could hunt something together. Half a rabbit isn't much of a meal, but with the two of us, I'm sure we could catch something nice. What do you say?"

Shadow turned towards her direction and silencely agreed. Trying to focus all his attention on searching for a larger prey they could both feed on. Working as a team could lead to better results on catching the perfect meal. Soon he found a set of deer tracks and used it by searching with the scent of the deer in his nose. From the deer tracks he could tell that it was a small deer and it could be a easy catch if they are careful.

The raven wolf searched the deep snowy forest for his prey as he was the predator who hunts for his meals. Finally he spotted a pair of deer horns near a bush from a good distance away from him. The sneaky predator slowly crept lowly to the ground, making sure the deer did not notice him yet. He hoped his partner would follow his lead so as to not to scare their meal away. He tried to nip the deer's thigh once he got close enough towards it.

Cedar's ears turned sideways and she couldn't help but frown slightly. He didn't even say anything! But it seemed like he was in favor of her proposal and thought similarly about it. Very well, good enough. At least this meant a better chance of getting a good meal for once. She was a little tired of rodents and other wolves' leftovers. She sniffed for any good trails as the two walked through the forest. She stopped when she saw Shadow walk off in another direction, and that's when she noticed the fresh tracks that caught his attention.

She crept after him, following the trail until it led the wolves to a rather small and feeble buck. It pawed the snow for grass that lie beneath it, but it clearly hadn't been eating enough either. She hid by some bushes, looked to her new hunting partner and was about to try and work out some kind of plan, but before she could whisper anything, he'd already darted from the bushes and for the deer.

The deer ran, and Cedar could tell from one look that the thing had a lame leg. The wolves shouldn't have too much trouble taking it out in its condition, but they'd still have to be careful. She ran after it too. The other wolf managed to get a bite in on the thigh, and Cedar went in for a bite on its flank.

To their chagrin, they had lost the deer. Cedar had failed at biting its flank and Shadow grumbled at their bad luck. He was quite mad that they had failed at catching such a small deer, yet she was too fast for them to catch up. Shadow looked around him and realized that darkness surrounded him and Cedar. His stomach growled in hunger, warning him that he still needed something to eat and fast.

He didn't think fishing would be smart right now because he could barely see anything. He was afraid a larger predator could attack them if they tried to search for food now. Instead he made it his mission to find somewhere to sleep for tonight. Shadow slowly approaches a nearby cave. "This could be a good place to stay for tonight. We can't hunt for right now anymore." He warned her in a very low, but deep voice. He settled down in the dark and started cleaning himself.

The deer stepped to the side, away from Cedar’s bite, and before either she or the other wolf could do anything else, it slipped out of their grasp and disappeared into the forest. They could keep tracking it, but the deer was already alerted to the wolves’ presence, it would be harder to catch it off guard now. Cedar scowled for a moment, before taking a deep breath and putting on a more neutral expression. Be calm, it is only a deer. There will be another, she told herself.

The male began walking and Cedar trailed shortly after him. There were a few scents about that they could track, but it seemed like the male ignored them completely. Cedar wondered where they were going, until they stopped by a small cave.

“This could be a good place to stay for tonight. We can’t hunt for right now anymore,” he said before settling down onto the ground and grooming his dark fur.

“What? Why not?” Cedar whined. Was it because of the darkness? There wasn’t anything wrong with hunting at night. In fact, dusk was usually the best time to hunt. ”The night is still young! We could stay out a little longer… but if you insist, we could rest for an hour or two, then go out again later. Maybe venture off somewhere warmer, hm?”

Shadow stomach grumbled, he felt really hungry. Even though he was weary too, he could still gather up some energy if they rested for a little while. The raven wolf nodded off to sleep for a little while. He dreamed of butts and boys, that's all you need to know.

He leisurely woke up from his nap after a few hours. It was still pretty dark outside, but he could see better at least with his one good eye. He spotted Cedar laying and relaxing across from him, he just raises up and yawns, "Let's go." The male wolf stretches for a second and begins to walk through the forest.

The male still hadn't said anything. He just didn't talk much, did he? That was annoying. Whatever... Cedar walked off to the other side of the cave and threw herself down by a rock, letting out a long sigh as she lay there. After a while, she dozed off. She awoke again when she heard a voice, and she wondered how long it had been.

"Let's go," the male said, standing at the entrance of the cave, then he left. Cedar got up and stretched, then ran after him.

When she caught up to the other wolf, she slowed down to walk beside him. Looking over to him, she said, "You know, we haven't properly introduced ourselves yet. My name is Cedar."

Shadow continued on the trail, searching for deer tracks. He tried hard not to focus on his stomach and focus on finding food for them. Finally after a few steps into the woods, he found a pair of deer tracks again. He hoped that it was the same deer that ran away before. When his partner caught up next to him and said, "You know, we haven't properly introduced ourselves yet. My name is Cedar." The wolf introduced himself—Shadow was his name. It suited him, he was mostly black-furred. "Well, it is nice to meet you, Shadow," she said with a pleasant smile, even if she didn't really think it was that nice to meet him. He was quite the rude wolf, ignoring her all the time, but at least this time he actually said something. She was almost beginning to think he was some kind of mute.

The two wolves continued walking, until the wind carried a scent to Cedar's nose. She stopped in her tracks, sniffing the air, trying to discern exactly what it was. Whatever it was, it was food, and it was dead. Probably a few days old at this point, and almost rancid, but for a starving rogue, rancid meat was far better than none at all. She ran off after it, the scent growing stronger the nearer she got. Cedar discovered a half-eaten deer carcass, partially hidden by a holly shrub. It had various other scents on it, like the smell of a cougar, the strongest scent besides deer, lingering on it, as well as the faint smells of coyotes and perhaps a fox too.

Cedar tore off some meat from the ribs. It wasn't anywhere near as good as it would have been fresh, but she wasn't complaining about getting to eat some deer without having to suffer through having to catch it herself.

The male wolf approached the dead animal and settled down before he tore the dead meat apart. He was hungry as shit out here. He was good with anything they ate. Dead meat is good meat. He was meaning to thank Cedar after they finished this hell of a meal. Cedar was eating like a lady. He also was watching his surroundings, looking for any cougars or coyotes about.

Once they were full and ready to conquer the day, the dominant male was licking his paws. His hunger satisfied for now.
